@TheHandyGoddess
Well I see it’s in your front yard. Here in California they made it mandatory to have those on. The deal is…I tried to change my faucet and found out it was soldered on to the pipe. At this point, I’m going to live with the drippy faucet and waste a million gallons of water. California is the most fu*ked up state in the union.
@RapIsDeadly forgive the delay on an answer but does this really apply in this situation?
@SharkieSean Well I certainly don’t want to replace the brass rabbit. And yes just like the perfect love relationship everything couples up perfectly in the beginning and then the erosion slowly takes effect. Thanks for the lubrication suggestion ; )
I think that your connection is going to corrode at the double male coupling because it is brass. The female coupling you attached it to looks like steel. The dissimilar metals touching will start corroding. You can either replace the brass parts with steel or use lithium grease at the connection. The latter will slow corrosion instead of prevent it though.
So you’re not required to have a vacuum breaker on your faucet?
wasn’t expecting this. This lady is pretty funny. “I got this horrible drip happening”
@catbirdfeeder I’ve been out of sorts for the past while but It’s aproved, Nice bird feeder!
@uztoobz Thats great to hear!

@TheHandyGoddess I think you are mistaken. Parrott is the real plumber; I’m just Mickey the dog:))
@Parrott65 I wanted to do the experiment with my very cool new wrench and I was amazed that it did not damage the threads. But yes you are right, it’s best to aviod clamping down on the threads. Ultimatly the story goes I knew better but at one point the wrench slipped over the threads and I had to use that footage to make the scene flow smoothly. It’s difficult to do this and film this by myself. So it was ultimatly an artistic decision and I knew good for conversation too!
@mickeylehuynh I’m pleased you got some advice from Mickey the real plumber but I really must add that you will enjoy using the faucet more if you replace it with a decorative faucet.
@mickeylehuynh I’m happy to help!
@Parrott65 Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help. I’ll try it.
SHAME ON YOU FOR PUTTING YOUR WRENCH ON TOP OF THE THREADS!!!!!!
@mickeylehuynh I’m a plumber and figured you might want some input on this. If that’s happened, then probably the rubber gasket on the stem is worn out. It’s a very cheap fix. What you want to do is turn off the water to the pipe from inside the house, turn the same nut you were referring to and take the stem out. There should be a rubber little gasket on the end of the stem. Remove it and take it to a plumbing supply house or Home Depot and match it up.
Thank you for the video. I have the exact problem. Is there possibly an easier to solution. I tried tighten the nut under the turn handle. It stopped the leak but the handle becomes too tight to turn.
